The dining set was close to perfect for us. As other commenters have stated, the finish is a little darker than in the photo. It is more than strong enough to use for dining. I would not recommend fastening an anvil to it and using it in a blacksmith shop. Fastening the legs to the stools was challenging. Getting the bolts to align without striping them was difficult.
