Three months of use and I've been very happy with this rug. It took only a little time for it to lay flat (no more than a week), and I didn't notice a smell. It isn't super thick, so if you want it to be luxurious you've got to spend the money on a nice pad. I didn't bother with the rug I put under my dresser, but the one under my bed got a half inch pad and I love how it feels.
I bought this one in the 5'3" x 7'7" and the Omarion Oriental in the 7'10" x 10', both in the light blue. I would describe the color as light blue leaning towards a dusty teal. The Southwestern is more intentionally faded than the Oriental, which I prefer, but I didn't want the room to look too matchy-matchy.
