I've had this fan for a year now. I really adore it as it is attractive, super quiet, and moves a lot of air. It's one of the only units I've seen that has a support structure spanning the pivots and bearings on both the top and the bottom of the rotating assembly. The design itself is very impressive, overall. One shortcoming, however, are the switches. It has extremely subtle and closely spaced touch switches on top of the unit. They are hard to see unless they are in direct light so it's very easy to hit unintended icons or to have them register twice. Worse yet are the press switches on the tiny remote (which is easy to lose in or under the couch...). Since there is no audible prompt when you change settings, I often find myself hitting a button and having no idea whether it registered or not. The angle and height at which you hold the remote is also crucial. I often hit a button a second time then have to backtrack in order to sort out the speed. A visual scale or read out of some sort would be helpful as well as an audible prompt. At MRSP, this fan seems like it should look great and work flawlessly in every respect. In truth, it works super well as an oscillating fan but you do need to get used to using the remote and the tiny touch switches. They're not a deal breaker but are a bit of an ongoing annoyance. If you find it on sale, however, like I did, it really is worth every penny. I purchased this and another blower from the same company. I used this 2HP blower for a larger bouncy castle I have set up. I saw other similar products but these looked a little more professionally made to me. (Brighter colors, easy to carry handle, etc) Also came with great instructions and even had troubleshooting if you ran into problems. I have been using this for 2 weeks in the Texas heat, and it even rained and I haven't run into any issues. Also the color is bright. It was easy to add this fan to a location where a porch light was no longer needed. I purchased a 3 way switch and connected inside so that we can change the speed with a wall switch. I did not add any additional wiring, so it does not oscillate. However, it is mounted in a 9x9 ft space, so that is not a problem. It is very comparable in sound and pressure to the same desk top fan that I use in my bedroom.
