Good solid wood but it comes with so many screws and if you don’t know what you’re doing, you’ll have a really hard time. I’m pretty good at building furniture and I would say this isn’t for beginners to build. Every now and then I would have to stop and really look at the pieces and holes. Some holes were drilled unnecessarily or there would be something slightly off but if you know what you’re doing, it does work out in the end. I also had some help with this piece and it took 1 hour to build. Also, the dents in the shelf only allow for 2.5 pairs of dumbbells. I bought 3 pairs so far and only 1 dumbbell will have a holder for each pair. A bit interesting but overall cute if you’re going for a certain aesthetic. The butcher block is the perfect size for my non-traditional use it’s the top for a laundry folding table - with added 40 inches high legs.
