The rug was protected with a thick plastic wrap that somehow didn't rip or get holes in it while in transit. It was easy to roll out and went flat easily, even though it was tightly wound. Really like the colors and it looks great (size, etc.) in front of the cream couch where we put it. Only reason it's not five stars is that there is a 2" section where the pile feels like it got singed or caked with glue - it's hard and scratchy - and it doesn't rub out. This rug works perfectly in our space and looks exactly as we had hoped. The quality is very good, and it arrived on time and in excellent condition. My only minor suggestion is to use carpet tape or a rug pad underneath, as the rug does not have a rubber backing and can shift a bit on hard floors.
