About <p> In the 1970s, Paul, Edmund, Alex, and Steven Peykar first became involved in the carpet and area rug business at the retail level, operating a store in Westbury, Long Island. The new company worked on the assumption that delivery was going to be the foundation of long term success. <p> Known today as , the company that the Peykars founded in 1980 is now the world's leading and most diversified producer and importer of handmade area rugs. Recognized throughout the home fashion community for the range and exemplary quality of its assortments, the company has achieved a conspicuous leadership position in the market through an aggressively innovative approach to product development.
