Brooklyn mural artist who has been a professor of drawing at The Cooper Union School of Art since 2005 – has combined forces with Kalaty Rug to produce a series of area rug collections. In creating these area rug collections, Kalaty utilizes dynamic line-based artwork as the basis for this noteworthy series of artist-designed area rugs that are ideal for today’s modern homes and lifestyles. Brooklyn-born and lifelong Brooklyn-based brings her fine art background into today’s homes and lifestyles through a collection, named ARTWORKS, of creative area rugs derived from her contemporary ink and watercolor works on paper. Power-loomed using a combination of polyester and polypropylene yarns, each rug in this collection features a distinctive high-low textural weave that adds a further dimension to both the pattern and background.
