Absolutely beautiful, black, solid wood table! It is not engineered wood or cheap MDF. Very easy to assemble. Just add the four legs. One of the two support pieces that go on the underside of the table came unattached during shipping but it was easy to rescrew it back into place. Assembly was a little tricky because the leaf did not align with the pre-drilled holes. Moving the hardware fixed this. This is my second time purchasing this set. The first set lasted seven years and three moves. I have nothing bad to say- the set up is easy and we didn’t run into any issues. I built the chairs myself which took about 1.5 hours for all four. My husband built the table which took him about an hour. All the pieces are very sturdy and good quality. Around year five we added some extra screws to the table base, but this was probably only needed due to disassembling and reassembling the table multiple times. I had very specific criteria I was looking for in an everyday table. I wanted a pedestal base, an oval or round top with a leaf, cream/off-white with a dark wood top. it either had to match my existing chairs or have chairs without fabric. I also had a budget in mind. I know I'm extremely picky. I have been looking on and off for the right table for almost 4 years. Even after I order the table I texted my husband and said I'm probably going to hate it. I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived unexpectedly early on Saturday morning and we put it together easily. 2 bolts per foot and 4 bolts for the top. nothing was damaged in shipping and the table is an almost perfect match to the existing pieces in the room. The base is a little more on the white/gray side then cream but in the shade of the table its not noticeable. We will most likely always have the leaf in but the mechanism worked fine and everything fit together well and it feels sturdy. OK, first of all let me just say we did have an issue with shipping. The first one arrived and it had a blemish on the top. It had been hit at some point during delivery, so we contacted Wayfair and they were more than happy to send us another table.
