Five games live in one case here, so game night stops depending on what somebody remembered to bring. The top plays chess and checkers, then flips to reveal backgammon underneath, and below that sits a recessed Chinese checkers board that keeps marbles from rolling away mid-game. Two drawers in the side hold every piece, so nothing goes missing between sessions. The leatherette finish wipes clean and looks at home on a coffee table, and the whole set packs up to travel with you.

Motion is added to an otherwise still game with the board's concave landscape that supports freely moving, weighted, playing pieces. This prize-winning chess set is made of beautifully polished maple and walnut wood and detailed with accents of chrome for a modern aesthetic.

Bought as an office piece. Looks great, fine to play on despite the wobble. From a few other comments, I was concerned that the light pieces would not be different enough in color than the dark, but that is not the case — there is an easy contrast between the two. . Richard. The wooden chess board meets the fide & uscf standards for tournament play. Great for professional or tournament players, and chess game enthusiasts.

I very much like the chess board, the squares are sufficiently large and the rows and columns are identified with index letters and numbers in the margins of the board. The original (damaged) board was being given as a gift, so I was glad that I examined it before giving it to our grandson. Wayfair did exchange the damaged board with a new one and did provide a no cost FedEx return label.. Richard. Mercerville, NJ. Sun Sep 06 2026
