The top was broken off the lift mechanism when I opened the box. It has two runners that glue to the underside of the top that broke off. It had just a few brads and glue holding it on and some of the brads were bent over and did not penetrate the top. I would have sent it back but after opening it there was no way to get it all back in the box. I re-glued with polyurethane and put screws through the runners into the top. Not the best quality!.
