We love this pergola! It replaced a motorized retractable canvas awning that needed a new cover. We discovered that replacing just the cover would have cost almost three times as much as purchasing this entire pergola—and this looks so much better! Our deck is on the second level, and the pergola feels sturdy and has held up well through some fairly strong winds. My brother and nephew assembled it and attached it securely to both the deck and the house. Installation took most of the day, so it was definitely a project. Fortunately, my husband and I organized all the pieces and assembled several of the basic parts before they arrived, which helped tremendously. The finished pergola looks fabulous, and we receive so many compliments on it! Our neighbor was so impressed that they took the accompanying photo from their deck. The only drawback we have found is that it does leak during rainstorms, and we haven’t yet figured out how to correct that. Even with that issue, we are extremely pleased with it. Fantastic purchase! First think is this is big and tall. Be prepared to get a lot of sand. I bought 300lbs. and it took it like nothing. Locate and place base begore filling for sure. Based on reviews and cost was the reason we went with this gazebo. It fits our space and the fact it has a metal roof was a great selling point. Our previous canopy had a canvas top which needed replaced every year. I did most of the install myself. I had very little help which was even necessary. It took me four days, so I went slow and steady. The picture only instructions were really pretty good. All the parts were there and all the holes lined up. Which brings me to building of the gazebo. I left all major screws and bolts that attached the horizontal rails to the legs loose. One of the issues mentioned in reviews was being able to make this thing “square.” I’m handy, but square can be tough at times. By leaving screws and bolts loose, it allowed me to make the necessary adjustments when installing the roof panels. Once all the roof panels were installed, I tightened up all the screws and bolts. Solid structure and looks amazing do to exquisite assembly team. It was done in 2.5 hours and they arrived 2 hours before actual time expected. Unfortunately removing the plastic was a problem and did cause some structural damage by the assembly team. I would definitely advise to make sure you completely take off the plastic before you assemble it yourself or decide on using professional installation. Once the parts sit in the heat without taking off the plastic completely off it will definitely get damaged the roof frame if you try to take off once assembled. Otherwise it’s a solid and descent design and some people may opt to keep the plastic on but in extreme heat your are basically staring at duct tape all over the roof it’s looks more appealing on the website because the plastic was definitely completed removed. Lastly the hooks inside are definitely strong and durable to hold a ceiling fan. I’m currently waiting for a peaceful resolution I tried to order the replacement roof but currently on back order hopefully it’s easier to just order a brand new pergola.The only things that took a a couple of hours was doing the dissemble by my myself to get a brand new replacement or order another design. Hopefully there will be some compensation for this disaster. But again customer service has been very nice and responsive and hoping to get this resolved today to enjoy the yard.. Terrence. The Gazebo arrived in almost perfect condition. There was some minor dents on the edge of the roof pieces but once put together they were completely hidden. The quality was very nice. Plenty of supples were provided . My husband and I put it together over 3 days. Each piece of the roof is protected with a coating that needs to be removed. This alone took quite a bit of time but the metal was protected. I would recommend a couple of extra people to assist to make the construction so much easier!
