I was able to put the bed together myself. The hardest part was attaching the side panels. It was much easier to attach to the headboard to the side panels (I just laid the headboard down flat and put the side rails perpendicular and put in the screws, however then to hold all that and attach to the footboard was a little struggle. I used some of the packaging material to set up a lift. I think the look is very western, Victorian and rustic. This bed is very solid and sturdy! The assembly was easy but time consuming as I put it together myself. It took a few hours. My only complaint is there was a small bubble of paint on one of the finials that flaked off leaving the metal underneath exposed. It had a bit of rust on it. Easy to put together and comes with everything needed to do so took about 45 minutes by myself. Make sure to pay extra close attention to the bolt sizes and which is which assembling this half asleep resulted in having to take it apart and start from scratch the next day so just a little word of warning from experience! Me and my husband put the bed together and we got it done in about an hour. Once together we realized that we needed a little more support for our foam mattress because the metal slats were not wide and had to much space between them to give good support. We just put the cardboard the frame came in on top of the frame and it worked great. The frame is very sturdy and i needed that support being over 200 lbs. Fantastic price and very good quality, lightweight, super easy to put together (im terrible at that and only took me 10 minutes)... i didnt use the brackets or attach to my frame but wedged behind the bed (so no tools or assembly needed) and used some foamy double side tape behind it to keep it from moving and banging against the wall and its working perfectly.
