I received this bench on June 3, 2023. My husband and I worked together to construct it. I was very disappointed to find in the instructions that it is to be constructed with small dowel pegs. No screws are included. The instructions tell u that if a dowel breaks off while u are using a rubber mallet to hammer it in then u need to use a 1/8 drill bit to drill that one out and insert another one. I would have rather the manufacturer design this bench with screws as part of the construction which would have provided more strength and stability. However, we decided to give it a try and we began to construct it. Several dowels broke and I had to do as the instructions noted. It seems to be fairly tight together at this point but I will be monitoring it as time goes by. I applied a coat of Teak Oil to it and it brings out the beautiful grains and color. I love this bench. It cames unfinished and it's very dry. I used teak oil to protect the wood. The photo shows it after I rubbed it with the teak oil. There are a few things I want you to know. 1. The center legs are somewhat shorter than the outer legs. 2. It's delicate and somewhat fragile. I have a small crack in one piece. 3. This is 78 inches, really large and beautiful.
