Love/hate relationship: I LOVE the top, woven part of these chairs! They are beautiful and have a coastal feel to them. They are a lovely combination of off-white and gray. But, I do NOT like the metal base at all. Yes, it's metal, and a cheap, hollow metal at that. The most frustrating negative for me is the color of the base. It is NOT the honey-color pictured in the listing! The base is DARK BROWN and I'm really sad about that. It's actually a honey color ruined with black paint over them to give it a wood look. So the listing must be showing the chair BEFORE they add the black accent! NOT NICE! I cut my finger pretty bad unwrapping one stool base because it had a defect and had a metal fragment sticking out. It's VERY SHARP! So be careful unwrapping each chair. Another defect was some of the tops of the chairs had stained frames under the woven material, and some did not! ??? You can see the frame peeking through the woven material here and there on the chairs, and it's obvious something is wrong when you see bone color on one chair, and brown color on the neighboring chair. Did they forget to stain it?..or did they think the buyer wouldn't notice? ALSO...the woven pattern is slightly different between the two sets that I purchased! So chairs sitting right next to each other at the bar, have a slightly different woven spacing. Maybe I'm too particular, BUT I think for this price-point, they should be nearly perfect and described correctly. ALSO...it comes with the bolts and washers to assemble, but the washers didn't fit! Now this seems ridiculous! So I couldn't put the chairs together until we ran to the hardware store to get the correct size washers. The only assembly is to add the cross-bar at the base ( 4 bolts/washers), and to screw the chair on to the base with 3 more bolts. The base cross-bar at first glance looks to be too short, but when you add the locking piece and the washer, it's a perfect fit. Once they are together you see the bolts like a sore thumb. They are a shiny silver, right next to the stained frame... That cheapens the look entirely. It screams "we're NOT wood"! It doesn't take long to assemble, but it does take a long time to un-package everything. Other things I'm not happy about: The base seems extra wide for a bar stool. I've had several other stools and never had one with such a wide base. It sorta gives a cluttered look at my bar. (I so wish you had a choice in base colors.) I also wish you had a choice in how many stools you need, instead of being forced to buy in sets of 2. I really only needed 3 but had to buy 4... I have 4 in the photo but will take one out for everyday since it's just too cluttered. The woven part of the stool is just beautiful and seems to look misplaced on this base. I would also choose real wood over this metal if I could. The metal is hollow and feels and sounds very cheap when you move them around or sit in them. The cushion has a zipper to remove the cover, but sadly the fabric is thin and low quality. I give these stools a generous 3 stairs just because the woven back is so pretty and coastal looking.
