Made from 16 gauge copper, this concave sink has a unique bowl shape for a unique luxurious design. Copper has a soft look and is amazingly easy to maintain. Fingerprints do not show as they will on stainless steel and other metals. For basic cleaning, simply use soap and water. Copper has a "living finish" and its patina will continue to develop character over time, meaning it may become a richer, darker color. Due to the handcrafted nature of this sink, it will vary in appearance, finish, texture, and hammering. Also, the dimensions may vary up to 1/4-inch. We strongly suggest you receive the actual piece before making any installation cuts. Included with the sink is Novatto's 19 hole strainer drain (STD-ORB), constructed of solid brass for strength and durability. Well made and gorgeous, heavy in weight. Time will tell how difficult this is to maintain. After a bunch of research I landed on this brand and sink polished nickel finish. It was the best of many “not so great” options but it’s such an established brand I was comfortable purchasing with them. This sink is light weight and high on style. It's perfect to drop in the countertop. This sink is very dark and will stay that way as long as you don't use anything stronger than soap. If you use something like Barkeeper's Friend, you can get the bright bronze color. HOWEVER, that will break through the protection of the tarnished patina and return it to a "living" metal.
