I spread paper in the tray and when the tray when the paper is dirty, I just pull it out take the paper away wipe it down or wash it and I’m done. I advise anyone that has more than one dog. I have had 2 of these for about 6 years now. They work fantastic for what we bought them for and they have been used for different breeds of pets over the years . The bottom was the only complaint I had . In all the pictures , it looks like a thick plastic , but ours came with metal bottoms with raised sides. It ended up working better when we housed rabbits in them since they couldn’t chew it up , but if you are using it for a puppy , make sure there is an absorbent liner in place. Also , as someone mentioned , the bars are a little weak if you have a determined puppy or dog . This playpen has been a great addition for my puppy. It’s sturdy, looks nice, and was easy to set up. It ended up being a little smaller than I originally expected, but it definitely does the job for now and keeps him safely contained. The quality is solid, and I like the wood/metal combo—it fits well with the space instead of looking cheap or out of place. My pup is already getting comfortable in it and even tries to peek over the top, which is honestly pretty funny. The replacement pan is compatible with the MidWest Homes for Pets Single Door / Double Door Crates. The durable replacement pan is made with a flexible polypropylene plastic mixture which is odor resistant, easy to clean, and stronger than other replacement pans that are made of ABS plastic. Additionally, our replacement pans are injection molded during the manufacturing process making them more flexible/durable than competitors who vacuum seal their pans during the manufacturing process.
