We love the quality of this dining set - and it's perfect for the space. Although we are likely to keep the table at full size, it's nice to have the option of rotating the built-in leafs to make the table a smaller rectangle versus the square. We bought this 9 piece dining set for our new house. I like that it is small with 4 chairs when not expanded and can seat 8 when we have guests. It’s easy to expand and we like that the leaf is part of the table and we don’t need to find space to store it. It’s quite heavy and sturdy. I love the finish to look at but it does scratch easily. We use our bar stools for about every meal, so it doesn’t get a lot of use. I don’t think I’d recommend it to a young family as a main table though unless you view inevitable scratches and blemishes as character! It works for our situation though.. Deborah. Cincinnati, OH. I would suggest an elderly person with weak hand strength get help tightening the metal hardware. This table and chairs with butterfly leaf is better than initially expected. Fits in beautifully with our room decor. I’m giving it five stars, even though some issues with the table occurred. The butterfly leaf came undone in the process of shipping or putting it together.
