So far I have been using these boards and other form the manufacture. The smaller boards I ordered from the company directly had an off gas these did not. So I am guessing they have fully cured. I bought these to try and stay away form plastics. It is always a question if the resin has any plastic in it which is hard to understand. That all said the boards are nice. I'm loving this board. I live in a small space with no formal kitchen. So, anytime I can combine things I need like two cutting boards in one or the addition of a knife sharpener I don't have to go searching for, I love it. I also love the fact that it has its own flip out stand meaning it takes up less space on my limited counter area. Since my only sink is in the bathroom, the handle makes it easier to carry from room to room. It took longer than expected to receive the countertop but it arrived in immaculate condition and looks amazing. I put on 3 thin coats of wipe-on water based satin polyurethane to protect it and sanded lightly with steel wool in between coats. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store.
