This bed is a beautiful soft velvet and the color is lovely. The design is very beautiful as well. The directions say it only takes 30 minutes to put together but I did take me about an hour. I usually put things together alone but I needed help doing the footboard because it is very hard to balance and out the screws in alone. So keep that in mind when you begin constructing. The directions are very clear and it comes with a with a fantastic ratcheting style allen wrench which makes things go faster than normal. Ordered the light oak color and it was true to the photos. Very basic bed but seems sturdy for the price paid. It's not going to be a family heirloom by any means, but it is perfect for my needs in the guest room. Delivery was on time and it was easy enough to put together with an extra set of hands. I ended up cancelling the home assembly.
