This thing is amazing! I would prefer the option to have a softer yellow tone light in addition to the bright white, but it fits my needs. Needed a light out near the chicken coop/run but too far from nearest electrical feed to run anything permanent. This fits the bill. I have it on the mode where the light stays on low but comes on bright when approached or when it signals motion from a predator. Lights up the area very well for night time feeding/cleaning activities. I will remove the water from base and replace with sand before winter. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok, let’s talk about build quality. This thing is robust. Appears to be mostly cast iron with a powder coat finish. It’s incredibly strong and durable and even the stake you put into the ground is powder coated cast iron. It has well protected solar panel (again on a cast iron base) that won’t be easily damaged. The switches that turn the light on and off and also change the warmth are covered by a clear silicone so that they are weather proof. The light has a sensor so it only comes on when the ambient light is low enough to require a light source. The throw is pretty good. Works well for lighting up my boulder (we are going to inscribe it soon). It feels like it would do ok for a flag pole but maybe not as bright. Installing the light is a breeze. There is a ton of extra wiring that can be easily wrapped around the solar panel. It comes with two stakes to allow for separate location of panel and light or you can attach them together on one stake as I did. I highly recommend this solar light for your landscaping projects!. Let there BE light! Not gonna lie when this arrived I plugged it in and was not expecting the beam of insanely bright lights to blind me for the next 10 min. This thing is AWESOME!
