"Hi Maynard. This unit does not include an inner plastic piece, as it is solid quality plastic; it does accept regular kitchen bags, though ear in mind the dimensions of 25.2" H x 10.2" W x 19.2" D; and yes, you can wrap the garbage bag around the lip of the can to prevent slippage."

Fractal Girl from NJ	5.0 6/9/2011 Slim and quiet step on trash can. I don't use this trash can in the usual way. I have 2 cats and I use it to hold their cat litter, baggies and scooper. It holds a large amount of litter and keeps everything in a neat way. It also is very quiet when it closes which is great if the cats are still in the same area because the old cheaper trash can that broke used to scare them when it closed. Was this helpful? Yes / No
dmj from Elgin, TX	5.0 12/12/2010 Another I use this in my kitchen (bought the white for this reason) for my waste paper products as I live in the country and can burn same. It's a perfect size and now I don't need to empty every day as it holds all my junk mail as well as other papers for a week at a time. It takes up very little space, in fact it fits perfectly just where I wanted/needed it to be. The 13 gal tall kitchen bags are the perfect size for lining, thus keeping it clean.
