The duvet cover is soft, silky, and lightweight, about the weight of a bedsheet, but exceptionally soft. I paired it with a lightweight, inexpensive goose-down insert, and it gives me just the right amount of warmth without feeling heavy or suffocating. Without the insert, the duvet cover could easily function as an extra sheet on the bed. It has 8 ties, which do a great job of keeping the insert in place, and it was very easy to wash. I dried it on high heat, and it came out great with no wrinkles. The photo was taken before adding the insert, so it may look a little wrinkled because I hadn't adjusted it. I was mainly trying to gauge the size on a full-size bed. I ultimately used it on a queen bed, and it's the perfect size - enough coverage without looking overly oversized. My only complaint was the smell when I first opened the package. It had a very strong, fecal-like odor, so I immediately had to throw it in the wash. This is a very substantial coverlet. It’s gorgeous but it is definitely a mild raspberry color. It’s fine with my bedding but if you want a more sand/cream this won’t do. Also, it’s polyester fill which I could kick myself for not reading. I would have preferred down. This will make you sweat for sure. But overall I think it works great.. Tracy. Fairhope, AL. It was more than expected (with a couple small issues). The dark green color is bold and looks exactly like the color presented online. The velvet side is soft, smooth to the touch and very comfortable. The other side is soft as well. However, I sleep with the velvet side showing on the bed, because it just looks nicer than the reverse side. Two minor cons is that it is a little on the smaller side. I ordered a king for my king size bed and it fits, but I like my comforters to hang much lower thank this one. This could use more material by a few square inches. I measured it against my old king size comforter and this one is smaller than my previous comforter by about 4 inches. The other con is that it looks fluffier and thicker in the picture than what it actually is - it's thinner than the picture.
