LeCreuset never disappoints, I love this oval bread oven, I have a round one and when this shape became available, I did not hesitate. I have used other brand enameled cast iron or ceramic pots to bake bread, none come close to the LeCreuset in quality and consistency of the finished loaf. Putting the loaf on a shallower portion of the unit as opposed to into a deep pot is easier and when removing the top for the final portion of the bake more of the loaf is exposed so there is a more consistent crust.. I own this in dark purple and loved it so much I bought one for my brother in orange. I’ve had mine for 5 years, absolutely zero chipping in the enamel or paint. Under the lid has little bumps to consolidate the steam as it builds up inside the pot and drips the water back into the pot rather than running water down the outside of the pot (which one of my Le Cruesets do).
