No assembly needed. This chair came fully assembled in a really big box. So although you don’t have to put it together, you may need some help getting it out of the box if you’re petite like me. Overall, I really like this chair. It was the perfect color to put in our guest roomoffice. It has a very comfortable cushion and the Teddy material is very soft. It does swivel which is a cool aspect and it was big enough for my 5’9 husband to sit in. There is an imperfection on the arm that I pictured.
