My son and I put this TV stand together fairly easily. It took 35 minutes and required no tools except for a Phillips head screwdriver for the anti-tip restraint. It was a little tricky getting the sides attached, but one has only to slide up from the wide part to the narrow part to lock the sides into place at the top and bottom. It was a little tricky keeping the sides open for those portions where we needed them open to connect the sections. The top is heavy and it is overall quite sturdy. The wood has a pleasant smell and the doors are a nice touch. The black wood grain is elegant and the finish is shiny. What a lovely piece! The stand arrived promptly and so well-packed. The directions were very clear and it was easy to assemble, but like the directions, you need 2 people for the bigger pieces. Of note: the directions state to put in the shelves after you have installed the back pieces with THIRTY screws; however, the long center shelf will NOT fit thru the center opening-it has to be slid from the back, requiring the removal of said screws! It took 43 minutes to assemble. Its lightweight but sturdy. It looks like solid wood and very good quality. I appreciate how they packaged the hardware needed. You will need a screwdriver. The only downside for me was the last step of screwing in part number 8 would be easier if you apply it before putting on the top shelf.
