Ended up buying these as they were on sale and they looked similar to some of the other more expensive options out there. After receiving the item I can confidently say the quality is great and can expect them to last for years to come. The top and bottom are sealed with a screw like cover that seems to have gaskets that help seal the openings and keeping water from getting in. They turned out to be a little too small so we looked until we found a similar design. This one is perfect! This oversized design looks amazing on the front of our home. We would have loved if it was a dusk to dawn or similar feature but even as a regular light, this works great. We just purchased bulbs that did what we needed. This is a marvelous Lantern. I bought 2 and they are just right. The large glass areas make these lanterns gleam at night. I had a specific challenge with this purchase: I needed fairly large and handsome lanterns for the front of our handsome Colonial, but there is a mailbox permanently installed a certain distance below where the electrical out was. Wayfair had so many options, that I quickly found this one, that doesn't have anything projected from UNDER the lantern. So: variety, great quality, fair price, and quick delivery were all terrific..
