I really like these lamps! They’re different and whimsical and add character to our living room. I like the fact that you can just turn on the base, the lightbulb under the lamp, or both. It also has an option to charge a device. The on-off switches on the base. But if you want both lights on, you have to twist near the lightbulb. The reason for four stars is, the lamps I really light and can easily be knocked over and top easily when you’re trying to turn them on and off at the base but other than that, they are a keeper. This is a really nice quality lamp! Bulbs not included with this lamp and requires 2- 40 W maximum bulbs make sure you get the chandelier type with the small base because when you first look at the insert it looks like a big base, this lamp is ceramic and it’s very heavy that is quite beautiful . I am so very happy with this Mother of Pearl Capiz Lamp. It arrived well packaged inside and thankfully it was, because it is a delicate piece. It has three different lighting options, first turn of the switch will light them both up, the second turn, lights just the top part of the lamp, and the third turn will light the Capiz part. I’m not sure why it states it is a 4-way, unless the off selection is being counted. This lamp was put together nicely, I have no problems with its appearance, as I’ve noticed in other’s previous reviews, some have been poorly made, not the case in my experience. This lamp also holds a special meaning to me, for it matches and goes well with my fur-babies urns, which happen to have inlaid Mother of Pearl. I did however use a different shade that I already had, as the one that was provided, the color was a tad too white to go with my theme. All in all, I’m pleased with this lamp and do recommend it. I just hope that the quality is as good as the one I have received for others that may also make this choice for themselves in the future. It is a very nice addition to my decor. Thank you.. Tina. This is a gorgeous lamp! I’ve been eyeing it for awhile and purchased it as part of a room makeover. The shade is bigger than I would have normally purchased for a nightstand, but it still works.
