Ok, giving this 4.5 stars for aesthetic and solid wood frame. HOWEVER, please be cautioned There were some dings and splintering that are fortunately hidden after assembly with one acception. The assembly itself self took 2.5 hrs with a couple sanity breaks. Each spindled piece has an item sticker that would be visible and thus needed removal. I ruined my nails and spent 10x as long removing stickers and the glue as I did putting the head and footboard together. After FINALLY getting this bed put together, I almost cried contemplating the labor intensive deconstruction that would be required to take it out of the room. This project is not for the faint of heart. It is, indeed, a project. I would not deduct stars as paying for assembly is an option. Also, an oversight on my part, but the bedframe will not house a mattress and box spring, only a mattress. My biggest frustration was the assembly, and second the blemishes on the frame. I think this is a great little set up for a teenage boy. It did not take very long to set up, but was in a bazillion pieces. It’s to be determined if it’s sturdy enough to handle my gigantic son. Beautiful, well made bed. My kid loves the LED light, and uses it as a night light. The instructions were easy to understand, and everything was labeled clearly. My only complaint was that on one step, it didn’t specify which bolts to use, and after scrambling, we realized they were already bolted, so we needed to loosen them and re-install them.
