Get preschoolers excited about science and introduce them to the miracles of a microscope with My First Microscope! Extra-large, one-size-fits-all eyepieces make it easy for little ones to view objects with both eyes - and with no need to adjust the eyepieces. All images appear right-side up and left-right correct for easy understanding. With two extra-large eyepieces and a chunky, kid-sized focusing knob, kids can see a magnified hidden world with ease. A bright LED with easy push-button action lights up details for even more discoveries. Magnify any small object - flat or dimensional - at 8x with this real, working microscope!

My son loves the idea of this microscope and is always keen to have a look through it but he gets bored quite quickly because, and this may just be a problem with my particular example, the magnification is rather disappointing. In no circumstances is it anything approaching 8x. It seems more like 1.5x - that is, something that is about an inch across will appear under the microscope to be about 1.5 inches. I don't think there's anything I've missed operationally to increase the magnification; it's just rather underwhelming. But the absence of any similar comments here leads me to believe that it's a problem with my item. I would recommend it to a friend, with this caveat.. Richard. London, Uk. Tue Jan 17 2017
