We received this around the 16th but decided (after seeing the 26 page book) to come back and pay a pro. Best decision ever! He was finished in 1 & 1/2 hours! (It had one deep scratch on the top but unless you're on a step stool or very tall, you won't notice), otherwise it's beautiful and the white matches our new bed perfectly! I did add a motion sensor light to each side and will probably add a few more under the shelves. (The strong smell others have mentioned was there ... until we turned our air purifier on (directly in front of the wardrobe) for several hours.) Love it! This armoire is a beautiful addition to my office, and I am very happy with how it looks now that it is fully assembled. The warm wood finish is rich and attractive, and the simple, modern design makes it look much more expensive than basic office storage furniture. It gives me a practical place to organize bags, shoes, and other items while keeping everything hidden behind the doors instead of creating visible clutter. The interior provides a useful amount of space, and I like having both the tall cabinet area and the two lower drawers. I am able to use the hanging section for bags and clothing items, while the bottom area works well for shoes and smaller accessories. Assembly, however, was challenging. Many of the pieces are large and heavy, which makes them difficult to hold, position, and attach without help. I assembled it mostly myself, but had help with the bigger peices. I would strongly recommend having a second person available. It makes the process much safer, faster, and far less frustrating. The instructions also made assembly more difficult than necessary. The drawings were very small and sometimes hard to see clearly, so it took extra time to determine exactly how certain pieces were supposed to be positioned. Enlarged illustrations or clearer close-up diagrams would have made a major difference. Fortunately, I was eventually able to complete it, and the finished armoire feels sturdy and functions well. Have been looking for a solution for more hanging room in my very small bedroom. I purchased 2 of these wardrobes to flank my full-size bed that sits sideways under a window. The house is very old where they used to have very small closets. I was looking for a "built-in" look and these were the perfect size! I am putting them together by myself (directions say it needs 2 people) but I was able to assemble the 1st one no problem. The wardrobe is very sturdy when assembled. I have the first one all put together and need to put the drawers and doors on the second one. I am very happy with the color! I may replace the gold knobs if I find some more whimsical ones, but this will help eliminate the 2 portable clothes racks that have graced my bedroom since I bought this old house! Beautiful piece! Looks even nicer in person. I paid for subcontractors off Angi's list, through Wayfair, to handle the assembly. That went well. Very nice men who were efficient and kind. They had it assembled in 2 1/2 hours and it would have taken me at least a full day. You pay extra for this and it is worth the fee. There are three areas on the piece that need to be replaced by Wayfair (contacting them tomorrow). A door that is warped and does not match up with the door next to it, a flaw in the center main door, and a door that does not soft close as it should. The soft close feature is so nice on all the other doors and drawers. The handles are beautiful and nicely made. The color of the armoire is gorgeous. Third one of these that I have purchased. I found them easy to assemble, and they have a sturdy structure - love that they are solid wood (except for the backing). Have stained all with Minwax wood finish oil-based ‘Colonial Maple’ Semi-transparent interior stain. They look great ! Though the boxes had encountered some bumps and bruises, the contents within each of my shipments remained safe from harm - I would attribute that to the solid packaging. It was easy to assemble with 2 people. You almost need 2 people once is starts to be mostly together. That pressed wood can be heavy. It has that cheap backing but it all fit together well. We were able to adjust the doors so they closed nicely and then to get the seam between the doors to be small and straight. It took almost 2 hours. My husband is in the construction business and does a lot of woodworking projects as a hobby. Even so, it took the two of us almost three hours to assemble.
