So far it's a great cutting board. Definitely have to follow the care recommendations for the initial oiling and seasoning for the first week or so. This product is made from acacia wood from Thailand, a non-endangered species that is not harvested from rainforests. We plant a tree for every tree we use. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. Rejuvenate and protect your board by rubbing it down with butcher block oil after each use. Do not soak. To dry, prop up off of counter to allow all surfaces to air dry evenly. Wood products should never be washed in the dishwasher. After drying, rejuvenate and protect the wood by rubbing it down with their Butcher Block Oil. Apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak in thoroughly before use. Regular application of their Butcher Block Oil will prevent cracking and preserve the rich natural colors of the wood.
