We made 2 mistakes when putting it together...one of them was because the 2 items were labeled incorrectly. The other was we placed the shelf on the wrong side due to forgetting we were facing the back of the headboard while putting it together. Both were easy fixes. We love the headboard, especially how skinny in depth it is, compared to our old one. Give yourself plenty of time to put it together. Also the printed instructions are very faint to read so pull up the instructions here on Wayfair. This was actually very simple to put together. I did it 99 by myself. I did have help standing up the head board once I finished that. I feel that it is good quality the metal is sturdy, the boards are thick. I really Like the finish that I was originally very iffy on. I was also able to find matching dressers! Thy are a hair darker but still look nice. I think the whole thing took about 2 hours by myself. Unboxing thought took about and hour and that was crazy haha.
