I bought this to match the end tables that I bought last year. I loved the style and an extra bonus for me is that the iRobot can fit underneath it so I don't have to vacuum under it. The previous sofa table that I had also had a bottom shelf, and I kept some things on it that I would prefer to have hidden from sight (binoculars, doggie paw wipes, cover for sofa) since I wanted those things near our back door (where the sofa table sits.) Now I keep those things in the drawer so that they are out of sight, but still readily available for use. It was easy to put together. My husband and I are in our 70s, but we were able to put it together in just about 1.5 to 2 hours. I really liked this console table. The size was exactly what I was looking for, and it fits perfectly in my entryway. It has a beautiful design, but it takes quite a while to assemble since it has a lot of pieces. Unfortunately, as soon as we started assembling it, we noticed that the material was not properly glued in some areas and was already peeling off. That was very disappointing. First off this is a gorgeous piece and solid wood all the way through the color is a beautiful warm brown. Do pay attention when assembling because I had to undo the side shelves to flip them around again. Some of the pieces are extremely similar. The bottom piece already comes complete so the shelf essentially sits on top of it and I love that it has little feet to prevent it from scratching the floor.
