The upgrade includes a heavy duty internal steel lock cover bolted to the lid with ¼” bolts secured to 3/8” steel welded blocks. This gun safe is just what I needed. It's not so heavy that I can't scoot it around. We did screw it to the wall so it's nice a secure, no one can get to the screws without opening the safe. The instruction booklet could definitely be improved. It took us a bit to figure out where the battery goes and how to get the keypad off. Until we got that off, we did not know where the key goes because it is not illustrated in the booklet. However, once you get the keypad off the key hole is in the middle. The locking mechanism seems very sturdy. I love the touchpad, both my husband and I were able to program our fingerprints. It does not state how many you can have so I'm not sure on that. This is heavy metal! See how thick the lid is? I have some other cheap gun safes but those are like tin-can to this one. It is solid heavy, 12 gauge steel I guess? Surprised for this price. Big enough for my 2 guns and clips. Programming is simple and straight-forward, easy to use. Fingerprint works well, the spring lid pops up pretty quick.
