There were no surprises with this loveseat. I wanted a small patio loveseat, and this fits the bill. It seems to be well-made though I would have liked a third clip to hold the chairs together. There are a lot of screws. It took my non-mechanical husband about 2 hours to put together with his fat, clubby hands. I do wish the cushions were a bit more comfortable, but I would say they are typical at this price point. I thought it was very low to the ground, but after doing more research found this height is one of the higher dimensions out there. We purchased two of the couches along with a rocker set and side table. They are fairly comfortable to sit and lay on. This set did have thinner cushions compared to other sets on the website, but they did say they are high density foam which seems to make a difference. I took off a star for the ease of assembly. The assembly was a bit of a pain. Do yourself and your sanity a favor and use a wratcheting screw driver (the correct allen bit was included with ours). This will save you time and frustration. The instructions were also a bit unclear and the QR code on the manual that was supposed to show an assembly video did not match up with the couch that was sold.
