The 2-piece sofa set is truly remarkable. Made in the USA, this sofa set features a sumptuous blend of dark brown and burgundy faux leather and chenille fabric. Gorgeous floral and geometric patterned design catches attention while timeless floral carvings on the solid wood and veneer frame and center tufts polish the rich design.
When they say go big or go home this is what they mean. These couches replaced my 20 year old couches and I hope they last as long. These are gorgeous oversized pieces perfect for a traditional style home. I love Victorian and antiques so these fit the bill perfectly. First off and most important is the size. Check those measurements, the door width recommendation is 40 inches for a reason as these are 38 inches in width, 93 and 71 couch and loveseat length respectively and 42 inches high at the center back. you can get away with a little less in doorway width, one of the reviews passed the loveseat through a 35 inch door with success, but you will need to do some protection and shimmying. My door clearance is also 35 inches, the delivery drivers did not remove my door or leave on the last plastic wrap and I did have some nicking and damage on the wood that I was able to touch up but we don't really want that happening. So, try to stick to the clearance recommendation or you may invite issues.
Wayfair of course has excellent customer service, offered a replacement or a percentage compensation after proving damage through pictures, which I took. I was not going through the process again, I love the look and quality of these and I really didn't want to pick something smaller in size. So, there's that. If you have less than the clearance rec, you will need to unwrap the heavy outer blankets, potentially take your door off the hinges and have good movers.
Part of the reason for passage requirements is that only the back feet are removeable, the front wood is a single solid piece including the front foot, front edge single solid piece and the center back comes up to a height of 42 inches.
I have a 1/4 partial wall on one side at the hall entrance and a large opening into my front room, so by tipping the couches on their end at about 45 degrees and angling them in they were able to pass through.
The patterning on these couches is lovely, it is a mix/match style and bold. They are heavy specs show a weight of 900 lbs for the set, built in the USA and the wood is solid wood, the carving is fabulous. The color advertises as a burgundy/wine, but it's more of a claret wine really leaning with purple tones, but not so purple you have a true purple couch. The cushions are reversible to the claret color, they are not "patterned" on both sides. Others have said they are firm cushioned and I agree with that. At first it was more firm than I'm used to, I had previous couches that were a little more sink into, but after having these for over a month I like the support they give. I did buy faux fur cushion covers to protect the couch and will review those later. They soften the look if you are shocked by the boldness of this piece, but you will get used to how pretty and stunning these are. The accessory pillows match nicely, although there is no other part of the couch that has that striped pattern and they are quite lightweight.
Traditional with a modern kick, solid, heavy, oversized with a wow factor, made in the USA, if you like all these things and the size entering your home is not a hindrance, don't be afraid to buy them.
