I have waffled on this between four and five stars. The chair is every bit as weighty and good looking as the pictures show. Not quite a chesterfield but chesterfield-like. The "faux leather" certainly feels as you would expect pleather to feel. I'm a fan of full grain leather typically but given the option of this versus a 2k+ chair of real leather it is a good compromise. I will say the following though as a "con" of sorts. There are a few comments here about the pitch of the seat. As an amateur woodworker I mistook this as not understanding that a proper seat needs pitch to be comfortable. The basic pitch (with the back locked) is a bit more than I thought it would be and I can see how a smaller person may not like it. Overall I think this chair is fantastic, exactly what I wanted / needed and a massive upgrade from what I had before. The leather feels nice and rich and overall I am happy with the build quality. The slight nitpicks I will mention though are, however, that the leather appears a bit thin when looking at the included square patch, though time will tell. The base where the rollers are attached is not a solid piece of wood but rather a metal frame covered in wood, this is both good and bad in ways. Good in that the cair is more sturdy and I am confident the weld will not fail, bad in that because the wood is laid over and not tightly secured, it can move quite a bit and leads to the piece feeling cheap. There is very little heigh adjustment range for the piston that is included, though they are upfront about this in the product specifications, only about an inch and the seat already sits higher than the average chair in my opinion. In addition some things to note that are neither positives or negatives, the seat and cushions are quite firm, though maybe they relax over time. The chair is also made to the average person, so people who are tall or short may find the chair slightly uncomfortable. Chair is rated to 250 lbs and I'd say that is probably accurate, the seat is not narrow but if you are wider at the hips it may be a struggle to sit properly. I would've given the chair five (5) stars as it is simply beautiful. Red leather is beautiful and finely designed. However, the flawed design mechanics required demerits. The screw holes to the base and the screw holes to the chair did not aligned and required me to use my adjustable grip pliers. When I was finally able to tighten the screws, the screw heads were stripped. When I turned the chair upright to sit down, a metal piece fell to the floor. The adjustable bar in the base which allows the chair to rise and fall as well as recline comes all the way out of the chair. I deduced the metal piece which broke loose when I turned the chair upright, that was it's function to keep the adjustment bar from coming all the way out. These chairs are very high quality and sturdy. It’s difficult to find office chairs that the seat height is at least 20” and these fit the bill. There is a slight degree difference in the pitch of the seat front and slightly lower at the rear which is perfect for comfort, posture and keeping the seat at my preferred height. The only complaint are the directions for putting together the round base - there is a correct side - make sure you insert the hydraulic mechanism first to figure out the top and bottom before installing the wood covers.
