I haven't opened the package or washed the sheets before putting them on my bed but the material is a lot softer than the last couple of sheet sets, I have bought and just yesterday throw out 2 set for they were too much like a flannel material, but tags say 100% polyester.. So much better in the summer months than the microfiber I was using in the winter. The thread count is amazing especially for the price!
