I was looking for a lower profile stool that still had good back support and these were it! They are cushy and soft and supportive. They were the perfect color as well. My only wish is that they had foot rests on the sides as well, but that's because I'm used to that now. One cushion has a small gouge that would have split more as we sat on it, so I requested a replacement and Wayfiar was so quick to respond! We had a replacement within the week. These are great and very comfortable! If I had one criticism it would be to ignore the instructions when it says to tighten the legs to the foot rail to 100%. Definitely put all screws in (legs to seat and legs to foot rail) at 50%, then align and tighten the legs to the seat to 100% BEFORE you tighten the foot rail..otherwise you will not be able to align the chair legs in a way that minimizes the gaps between the parts, creating pinch points for fingers when scooting in your chair. I'll preface this by saying "I fully expect these to be trashed within a few years, as I have a busy kitchen and a three year old". I purchased a less expensive version, fully expecting to have to replace when the kids are older. Edit 2/13/2026. We've now had these just under 6 years. While I started my first review with an expectation of these being absolutely trashed in a couple years, I am thrilled to report that I was wrong. They're holding up great to a now 8 and 4 year olds daily meals. The kids also like to use these stools as stepladders to get cereal, bread, etc out of the upper cabinets.
