NuTone® interlocked make-up air dampers provide outside air when required to keep the air in the home fresher by allowing the range hood to operate at optimum levels. Slave dampers (MD6S, MD8S, and MD10S) are interlocked to the main automatic or universal make-up air damper and open in unison for synchronized operation. They close, along with the main damper, as soon as the range hood is powered off. Slave dampers can be ganged together to provide a cost-effective means to provide for higher volumes of make-up air.

Purchased this during a kitchen remodel when we determined that we needed a make-up air duct. We had purchased a Thermador Hood for our kitchen when we realized it likely was going to pull out to negative pressure in the home. This has worked great with the pressure switch that automatically opens the damper when the pressure builds in duct. Only had a problem with the pressure sensor on install, found out quickly from tech support that it can only be mounted upright, we had not. I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. CRAZY AMAZING! This is such a high-quality stainless steel range hood, and what great convenience that is convertible! You have you ever been in the situation where you bought the wrong appliance, it’s all unboxed and you’re installing it and realize oh darn! The pieces are extremely heavy and will require two people to mount that that’s pretty common with any very good range hood. Definitely stainless steel quality, the craftsmanship is sleek and modern. All parts are included as pictured. They added a nice touch of some oven mitts in brand new potholders that they cleverly used isn’t insulation in the box. There are only one drawback to this product that is that the vent is black plastic, it may not affect any performance, but that’s something I wish was that are quality material. However, I’m not familiar with other range hoods so I’m not sure if that is common or not. Adds a real statement to our kitchen, we are still waiting for our installer, but have mock fitted it into place and it’s just a huge wow. Beautiful item and it runs fabulous. This is a great upgrade for your kitchen hood. It just takes your kitchen up to a whole Nother level. Insulation was simple however, note that we did have to buy by the duct venting supplies theyre not included so we bought the coil hose and clamp and the heat resistant tape no big deal. This thing is so cool so nice. Its very quiet And the plus of having a remote control to operate to turn the lights on and off reduce section or increase section timer delay all that this is so nice another plus is you have a 10 year warranty so this is a 10 out of 10 in my opinion no more lousy clunkyhood range noises. We had our contractor install two of these heaters with the covered patio extension we built last spring. We spend a ton of time enjoying our patio year round and these heaters were put to the test and passed with flying colors. The heaters were easy to operate with the remote controls and they provided a surprisingly decent amount of heat for residential units. This humidity sensing exhaust bath fan, energy star offers easy, room-side installation, with “No Attic Access Required”. This is a nice fan!!! The description is not accurate, it has no light. It was not a surprise for me because I got a description from the Broan site using the fan's code AE50110DCS. I had AE50110DC and wanted to replace it with an automatic fan that turns on automatically when humidity is high and works for a specific period of time (it has a timer, a duration is up to 60 min). The fan allows the user to select a speed 50, 80 or 110 CFM. My previous fan (AE50110DC) had a permanent speed of 110. AE50110DCS at 110 makes the same level of noise as AE50110DC at 110. AE50110DCS at 80 is a little bit quieter, just a little bit. Therefore, I selected the speed 50 CFM which is really quiet for me. I set a humidity selector at 70% and a timer at 60 min. I know that for a 4PC bathroom the speed of 50 CFM is not enough but I keep a door to the bathroom open all the time and the fan will run for 60 minutes, then check humidity again and start a new 60-min cycle if humidity is above 70%. I guess it should be enough, time will show. I had a choice to buy a bigger Panasonic fan which is as quiet at 110 CFM as this fan at 50 CFM, but decided to use a fan with the same dimensions as my old one.
