Now that I have it assembled it’s OK, it seems to be fair quality, looks good, feels solid, and the drawers work smoothly. However, it took hours to assemble and the directions are pictures, often vague. (The only words in print were inadvertently funny). The triangular drawer stop that I think is used to lock the bottom drawer to the top would not allow the top drawer to close so I removed it from the top drawer which I think prevents the bottom drawer from locking but I wasn’t going to fight it and possible break something slamming it or send it back after the long assembly. Fortunately, right now I don’t need to lock it but I wonder how this part could have been designed so badly. I have it closely fitting under a table so tipping isn’t a problem but I can see it could be and especially if you have kids it will need to be attached to something.. Karen. Amissville, VA. The dark purple is a great color - file cabinets are fine for the price point. One of the two I ordered has a sizable dent on one corner. It it was to be in a corner or not viewable from two sides, I would be ok with it. However, it is being used to support wood for a desk in a brand new church office and plain to see. Can you send us a new one? I examined the box prior to opening and saw no sign of the dent or I would have refused shipment. Please advise.. Alison. Nantucket, MA. Fri Apr 17 2026

Two spacious file drawers provide abundant storage for all your office supplies and important documents. Whether tidying up your office supplies or securely storing critical papers, this HOMCOM filing cabinet is the great choice to enhance both organization and style in your workplace.

Great file cabinet; perfect for my new retirement home office. I finally retired and moved into a vacant family cottage only partially furnished. I happily left behind old and outdated metal cabinet and mostly metal desk; looked forward to new upgrades. I know it will sound like hype, but I've learned the hard way. I buy lots of stuff online and when it comes to knocked down furniture I have to assemble, I bypass my prime options and go with Wayfair. This wood decorative two-drawer file cabinet is a perfect example. It arrived fast (actually a day early). Package and contents free of any damage, dings, dents or scratches. Assembly took a bit of time, but worth it. Instructions say two people; was just me, didn't rush. One small flaw was the final step. Task involved inserting the finished drawers into cabinet frame and screwing in last of two small machine screws, one each side of each drawer (to secure metal glides). Three went in with multiple tries to align screw with threaded hole in glide. The fourth wouldn't go; I opted to improvise with a small wood screw left over from additional spare bits that came with this cabinet (another reason why I go with Wayfair). A matching L-shaped desk is due today; can't wait.. Daniel. Sandwich, MA. Thu Oct 22 2026

Other than the holes for the handles being drilled in the wrong place, it’s not too bad. They were drilled upside down so that they are on the lower half of the drawer front. Hopefully it won’t affect the drawer in any way other than aesthetically.. Margaret. Bonita Springs, FL. Sun Oct 04 2026

This is a beautiful piece of office furniture. Looks very good. Took about 3 hours to put together. If you are not good with reading instructions fully get help. It's somewhat strong, but I would only use it for hanging file folders. The bottoms of the draws are made with some sort of hardboard and the weight is not sufficient to hold much of anything else in my opinion. They are just slid into slots on the bottom. The lock is weak but this is for my home so I don't need the lock. It perfectly matches my desk. Otherwise it's very good fit for my home office.. Judy. Boston. Sun May 10 2026
