This bassinet seems like it will work well for our needs. It has sturdy legs that can be adjusted for height. The crib portion has an adjustable side that you can lower if you want to have this right up to your bed. They must know that parents are too tired to get up and lift the baby back into bed. You can have one side lower so you can place the baby in bed without having to get out of your own bed because you moved this bassinet right next to your bed. Every cloth part can be removed for washing. This bassinet comes with extra support by providing a sturdy roll of canvas strap material. You could use that under the mattress if you want to. They also caution against using this next to the wrong kind of adult bed that has a hard frame in the way. You should only use this either freestanding by itself in your room, or next to an adult bed that has the mattress on the edge so that the transition from adult bed to bassinet is all soft, in case you transition the baby from your bed to the bassinet and want to ensure it is all soft.
