The bunk bed looks great all set up and feels sturdy! The stained finish looks great! I do think the beds are darker in person than what the picture shows but I like them! The set up went well. There were a couple of pieces that were not labeled but it was not difficult to determine which ones were which. The assembly went decently well. My DIL put it together with my granddaughter holding pieces once in awhile. Took about 8 hours. Hint: do not tighten down until it is assembled, including the ladder. Update: They still love the bed, and I thought i'd add a picture. The wood is more like a rustic whitewash. It doesn't look as well as the picture and who ever shipped it, left it in the rain. The box was falling apart, and luckily I found it and took every piece in by hand, and dried them off. No damage done, but It was unnecessary to leave it like that in the rain when they could have left it next door at my parent's who have an over covering on their porch. Both DIL and granddaughter got on top bunk. It felt sturdy and didn't move around. We did get a bunky board for top because mattress is foam. The girls love it and are having fun putting their dolls and stuffys around. Very unhappy with delivery. Boxes falling apart. Fed ex stood one up at bottom of deck stairs. We are having g sporadic thunder storms. No plastic was place around packages, so the box fell apart and all the wooden pieces fell and were rained on. I had a mess! I had to remove one piece at a time into home and dry it off. It took a couple people a few hours dealing with two wet opened boxes. The bed was poorly packaged and fed ex left a mess! My 10 year old has the top bunk and my 2 year old has the bottom.. while it is a beautiful bed, I will say that when my 10 year old at 110 pounds moves around you can definitely feel movement and wobbling from below, but there is a steel bar that runs underneath the top bunk that reassures me that it is secure. It took us a about 3 hours to build, just make sure that the headboard and footboard are in the right facing position bc we had to redo ours. I also will note that the headboard and footboard slats dont fit in snuggly and are wobbly. Pine wood is a softer wood and I am already aware of some dings and dents but am still happy that this is not an MDF product so should hope last still for some years. An excellently crafted piece of craftsmanship. If you have a child who might be hesitant of the top bunk due to a past experience of it feeling shaky, have no fear. This is a well manufactured product, all pieces connected perfectly or nearly perfect needing no additional work to get them to fit. The ladder is mounted top and bottom to the framing adding additional structural integrity. The mattress slats! While other brands try to work with less, this unit provides approx. 14 top and 14 bottom alleviating any chance or concern of sagging or mattress rippling—a virtual box spring of sorts. There is virtually no shake at all in the structure after it is built. Also, the pictures lack clarity of the under-storage space; flat long 2'x4' totes fit 3-4, side-by-side, and with nearly enough room to stack another on top! If you're looking for that extra space, you will have it (great for extra blankets or seasonal clothing storage). We absolutely love these bunk beds! We’ve had them for a couple of years now, and they have held up really well. We especially love how versatile they are. You can easily convert them into two separate beds, and the ability to change the ladder placement has been so convenient as our kids’ room and needs have changed. The drawers underneath have been a total lifesaver for storage, especially in a kids’ room where you can never have enough! And the railing on the top bunk is perfect for our oldest. It gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing she has that extra security while sleeping up top. My only complaint, and the reason I’m knocking off a star, is that for the price, I expected the overall quality and finish to be just a little better. We have some noticeable marks and fading where the drawers open and close, and the wood/finish has dented and gotten marked up fairly easily over the years. It’s not anything that affects the functionality, but for how much these cost, I would expect them to look a little better after normal everyday use. That being said, they are VERY sturdy, and I have never once worried about my kids’ safety while they’re sleeping in them, which honestly, is the most important thing to me. They’ve held up through years of kids climbing, playing, and sleeping in them, and overall we’ve been really happy with them. I just wish the finish was a little more durable for the price!. We got this bunk bed with storage for our kids, and it has been a total game changer for their room. The built-in drawers hold way more than I expected — clothes, pajamas, extra sheets, and even some toys — which helped keep everything organized without needing another dresser. The bed feels sturdy and safe. The guardrails on the top bunk are solid, and the ladderstairs are stable enough that I don’t worry about them climbing up and down.
