I like to start a review with the packaging. So, it came in a box, very well cared for inside, fragile label on all sides, and it arrived via FedEx in perfect condition. Good job, Fedex!! Upon assembly I noticed it was very straight forward (mechanical mind not necessary), the instructions were clear and written in my language. Looking at this beautiful piece fully assembled made me feel almost awe struck, with its glowing copper eagle, and brass cardinal directions. Solid piece! I've capped the cupola I'm building with it and it made it even more pretty! The only downside that I could find us that it does not come with the mount. Not really a downside though and if I had read the description better I would've known that before the purchase. You will love this piece. Replacing another Eagle that blew away in a storm. Did a lot of research, ended with this weathervane. It is a classic but, it doesn’t seem to be so ostentatious. Liked the design better of the next size up, but thought it might be too large (tall) for my copula. It’s winter, so I have not climbed up to install it yet. First of all, this piece is absolutely gorgeous and very well made. I gave this weathervane to my husband because we have about 45 domestic ducks and 25 wild ducks on our farm. This looks just like the ducks when they are coming in for a landing and they ski down the surface of the pond! He absolutely loved it! Love the look!! Going to look great on our cupola. The balls feel plastic but that’s probably a good thing where weather is concerned. Overall it’s heavy and sturdy. Also purchased the lacquer to protect it. Only complaint is there’s no instructions or hardware provided to secure the weathervane to your cupola or roof.
