I got this fixture to use in a small space over a bar, where ordinary track lighting was just too big and clunky. It is just gorgeous as an "arty" substitute for track lighting -- very beautiful and sophisticated. But I have two reservations for this use. First, from the way it's installed, it seems to be intended as under-cabinet lighting rather than overhead. It's plug-in, rather than direct-wire, and there's a switch. We were able to rig it up by putting a plug (and its transformer) into a hollow faux beam. But everyone might not have that option. Second, the lights are truly TINY -- they're not kidding when they say 1" diameter! I thought they might be a little bit bigger -- but no. Finally, if you haven't used LED lights before, they do create sort of an unearthly blue glow. I like it -- I also have them in an undercabinet space, and it creates a nifty effect. But don't expect them to provide "normal" incandescent light. It is true that they hardly use any energy and throw off no heat -- which is great in my climate. The track heads look very nice and seem to work very well (we've had them for about 2 months). While the track lights look like stainless steel or nickel, the track itself is a slightly different color, has a goldish tint (almost bronze) but fortunately not dark. So I don't think anyone notices this except me! I will add that you do need to have another piece (transformer) to hook up the lights that the purchase site does not state at all. This delayed our installation for weeks to get this part & reschedule an electrician! So beware and order it with the track & heads."..."  Read more

We were remodeling our kitchen and were trying to add new light into the area that used to be our kitchen eating area. The hole in the ceiling from the previous light was off-center from the rest of the lights because it was centered over our table. We chose this lighting system because it allowed us to utilize that same hole, while giving us amazing light for the whole space...and we are very happy that we did. It looks AMAZING! We absolutely love it! My husband, the skeptic, is even sold on it now too! It is wonderful! It defintitely was a challenge to install trying to get it to hold it's shape going up, but we finally came up with a good system. We decided to lay it out on the floor just beneath the area where we wanted to hang it. Then we used push pins with a weighted string to pinpoint the exact places to install the braces. If we had to do it all over again, we would have started with just the two end points and once it was up on the ceiling with those, then we would have installed the others in between. We have heard that the lights will eventually turn the lamp shades pink so we plan to upgrade to a colored shade eventually."..."  Read more
