T-fal Signature Hard Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set

This set is great, especially for someone who cooks a lot but can't handle those other heavy pans that are so popular. I also added 2 larger skillets to complete my set.

I was looking for a new non-stick cookware set because I needed to replace my old one. I chose the T-fal Signature Hard Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set because of the 3 sauce pans that comes with it instead of the usual 2. I also liked some other features of the set that includes the modern and elegant design of the pots and pans, the soft-touch and confortable handles, the venting tempered glass lids, and the fact that it is oven safe to 350-degree F. I've been using specially the sauce pans everyday, and I can confirm the practicality of those features (I only didn't use them in the oven yet), besides that they are very easy to clean. But I've also noticed a little problem that could be fixed for the next sets: the 1 quart sauce pan don't stand up by itself very well. It looks like the handle is heavier than the pan. Sometimes I have to hold it in place on the stove until I put something inside of it, otherwise the weight of the handle cause it to tip over. Even with this problem, I still recommend this set.

I got two sets one for each of our children. They love it and use it every day. I use T-Fal myself and would not have bought anything less for my kids. The nonstick pans are great even for a nice saute' and the large pot is perfect for soup and pasta. Since I love to cook, I prefer a heavier product (commercial type)for the type of cooking I do but this set is above average in every way.

Positive: The pots look really good. They make a nice looking set. I bought them for my boys as Christmas gifts for their first homes. They will do well for them as the place will be nothing but bachelors and I doubt any serious cooking will be going on.Negative: I can't find where they mention what the interior of the pots are made of. I assumed they were anodized both in and out, but they're only anodized on the exterior. The pots are light weight, no seriously hot cooking in these pots. The utensils they put in (assumably to make it a 12 piece set cheaply) are dollar store quality.So, overall, I'm not overly excited for spending nearly $100 for this set when I could have done better at our local [...]. I do like that they are anodized but that is really the only positive I can come up with. I didn't exchange them due to time constraints for Christmas. Otherwise I would have.

On the positive side, the pots look really nice. They are a good color and the exterior (only!) is anodized, which is at least good for the exterior. That's about it for the positive side. On the negative side, the pots are extremely lightweight. The inside is listed as non-stick but I'm not sure what materials they used to make it non stick, it doesn't say anywhere. It also says you can use metal utensils but since they don't say what the material is I'm not sure about that,either. The utensils (2 of the 12 pieces included) are the same quality as you would buy at your local dollar store. I have two sons that are flying the coop this coming year so I was looking for a set of pots/pans for their Christmas. I cannot return these sets (I bought two!) due to time contstraints with Christmas. Had it not been for the time issue I would have returned the set and gone to my nearest big box chain-store retailer, as the quality would be just about the same! I sure hate to be such a review grump, but these pots just don't measure up...

This is an excellent set of cook-ware, but would love to find the 10" deep frier with lid to match. Adding this piece would totally complete the set.
