wow what a generator!! this generator said it would run 7k but i have ran almost 7.5k and never a proplem. most generators i have bought(that is a lot) never even run the rated kw. i have owned many name brands and many cheapies and this generator is the best i have ever had. i just hope someone keeps there beady little theving hands off it. the only thing i could add to the generator which is impossible would be to have a anti theft device. dang the thieves"..."  Read more

This is an upgrade after my 7500 watt generator burned the rotor. I wanted to go with a tri-fuel for flexibility between gas and propane and this was one of two models I considered. In the case of a wide-spread power outage, you're not likely to get gasoline unless you've got some stored up. Propane will be widely available. After looking this one over very carefully, and looking for reviews on the product, I decided to go with Winco - a company that only makes power, it is their focus. They make power for the military, so they know what they're doing. This generator is extremely well built, and heavy. The v-twin 20hp Honda engine runs perfect and the 15 gallon fuel tank is a plus, as is the included wheel kit - a heavy duty wheel kit, too. The sheet metal is not thin and flimsy, but very heavy, with no vibration. I felt certain that going with the Winco, I would be assured of the rock-solid Honda engine, as well as rock-solid components that make the generator head. It certainly appears massive when you look at what's available out there. Be sure to invest in the 60 amp plug and cordset so you can just connect all the available power to your house (be sure to have your electrician do that for you!). When we bought our first cabin we bought a $1,000 Briggs and stratton generator from sears not knowing anything about watts, etc. After burning 5 gallons of gas per night while only running a few lights I quickly decided it wasn't worth it.. we now use it for a backup at our house and got this little guy for the cabin. I could NOT BE HAPPIER! The B&S from sears leaks oil and has since it was new, they have had it twice and said they cant locate the problem but refused to give us a new one.. This little Buffalo one works like a beauty and their service is very good. It will pull down if running a small heater or microwave but for crying out loud, it's a small generator. For most small items and for portability and fuel savings, you simply can't beat it! highly recommend!"..."  Read more
