I almost purchased another brand of generator from a local home store at just under twice the price for just 500 more watts; but found this one on Wayfair before I bought it, and am happy I did. I assembled the wheel kit, added oil, connected the battery and was running in about an hour. This unit is very ruggedly built. I haven't had any need for it yet; but did plug in four 1500-watt space heaters. Granted they are resistive loads and lack surge potential; but the unit performed flawlessly. I have worked around many generators, both diesel and gas, and did not find this Champion to be any louder than others. I had a couple questions, and called Champions tech support. They were very friendly, not only answering my questions, but also directing me to the information on their web site for future reference. They also sounded genuinely excited about their product. Thanks to Wayfair and Champion, I am prepared for the next storm."..."  Read more

I have a gasoline generator that never starts because the gas gells in the carburator between uses. I received the propane generator in 3 days. Hooked it up, added oil, and it started on the second pull. I ran it for half an hour to get it warmed up. Put a motor startup power load on it and it performed perfectly. I can run 2 freezers, 1 frige, a home furnace, a TV and 5 ea. 60 watt lights all at the same time. And it will start anytime I pull the cord regardless of how long it has sat since the last time I used it. I spent $1200 for my 4500 watt gas generator. This propane generator is a smokin deal."..."  Read more

I personally believe there is no better generator for the money out there! Why, because if you run propane for house use, you can hook this to your existing setup (consult a licensed gas/propane professional first). I had a simple transfer switch put on my breaker box, quick connect to the propane tank the house uses (large size, not for BBQ) and I basically have a whole house backup system I can quickly setup. Best of all, it’s portable so I can take it to camp or where ever with BBQ size tanks. So, here’s some helpful advice I am happy to pass along because it’s been reported that the manufacturer’s customer service can be difficult to work with: 1. You must put oil in the engine – it is shipped dry. I’m using 5W-30 vs. recommended 10W-30. Check with a small engine mechanic for your specific climate. 2. Immediately replace the engine oil drain plug with one which is magnetic. Easily ordered through hundreds of websites for cheap money. Oil Drain Plug: 12mm x 1.5 size. 3. Immediately replace the spark plug with something akin to: Iridium NGK Spark Plug: BPR6EIX (NGK 6637). 4. It does not come with a battery. This generator comes with a battery charger (cool huh) but for a new lead/ acid battery, you really need a trickle charger. I used this battery: NAPA PowerSport, model PSB 9B. Comparables are: Yuasa: YB9A-A, YB9-B or YB9L-B, Delco: CB9A-A, NAPA: 740-1872, 740-1858, 740-1837, Sears: 44043, 44356, 44045. 5. Lastly, do an oil change after you’ve run it a few times to test it, showed off to the neighbors, whatever. The first oil change is important because it helps flush the engine from contaminants and foreign materials. Please consult an electrician, propane/ gas tech and/or small engine mechanic if needed. I post the above in effort to help and some is a reworded reproduction of what I have found that works well. Also, the unit comes with a male 220v twist lock plug. So, good news, grab your electrician and likely for cheaper than what the box stores sell a wire setup for, your electrician can build one by just buying a female 220v twist lock plug and your choice of length of wire. Good luck to you! Buy a generator now – don’t wait until you need one…"..."  Read more

I purchased this Generator on the recommendation of a friend who has had one for some time. It seems to run forever when powering our 32' Camp Trailer with electric everything. Instantly responds to startup of major demand items like A/C. Wayfair saved me over $120 versus the local "Big Box", even with shipping."..."  Read more
