I use these pots and pans for every day cooking. I had been using a combination of 15-year old Calphalon anodized aluminum and 30-year old Farberware basic stainless that I'd hung onto because I didn't want to cook tomato-based food in the aluminum pots. I am very happy with the Le Creuset set and have just ordered the 4-qt saucepan to round out my set. Now I can retire both the Calphalon and Farberware. This is my first experience with true tri-ply cookware, and it really does heat up quickly and require a lower heat setting. I like that I can use these pots and pans on my current gas burners and that they will also work on induction if I switch in the future. I chose these over All Clad because they were less expensive and also because I liked Le Creuset's design better (curved rims really do make pouring easier, measurement marks inside are helpful, lids balance on the handle while stirring - I didn't expect that to be such a big deal, but it really is a nice feature, a helper loop handle even on 2 quart saucepan). I wish they made a 1 qt saucepan with a lid. LC is made in China, which is not a factor to me. They seem to be very well-made and I hope to use these every day for at least as long as the Farberware. Note that they are heavy. The only thing that isn't so great: be very careful about using too high of a heat setting. The instructions say not to go beyond medium heat, and even on the medium heat setting, my pots got a bluish cast on the inside. Boiling water by mistake on high heat resulted in a very blue discoloration on the inside and blue flame marks on the outside. It's not pretty, but LC said this doesn't affect performance or food flavor, so I'm taking them at their word on that. LC suggests using a flametamer, so I'm looking for one of those now.
