Kazuhide Takahama graduated from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1953, after which he went to Italy to work for the Gavina Group. In 1965 he introduced a knocked-down storage unit, Dada, to great acclaim. His simple and well-harmonized work shows a delicate balance of the Japanese aesthetic and that of Western culture. The Suzanne Lounge Seating series displays this appealing simplicity with minimal, curved forms. |
